E Bilchik & Co. was established in 1932 in Johannesburg, South Africa by founder Efraim Bilchik as a painting and decorating company. The company was run by his son Moris Bilchik.
Wallpaper hanging was introduced as an additional service in the 1950s and with increasing interest in and demand for wall coverings, Bilchik Wallpapers became a separate company, importing and distributing wall coverings from the best houses in Europe, Britain, the Far East and USA.
The Bilchik Head Office was located in Doornfontein, Johannesburg with showrooms situated in Johannesburg and Pretoria.
During January 2002, we commenced negotiating the purchase of Bilchik & Co. and in June 2002, we finally acquired the assets, and purchased the entire Distribution rights
This acquisition saw the birth of Majestic WallPapers c.c. the first wholely Black Owned Wallcoverings Distributor and Hangers of South Africa. Our purpose and intention is to continue to provide the service and products as orginally set down by the esteemed pioneers, Bilchik & Co, and to continually improve and surpass your expectations in the Wallcoverings Industry.
